More Layouts

So I intend to post these a bit sooner but real life caught up with me. Real life and my sinuses. You see we live right on the edge of town with only a main road between us and open farm land and on monday the farmer decided to spray something very pungent on the fields. Honestly there are no words to describe the smell but it was one of those that are so bad that you can taste it, and even with all the windows shut it was still getting inside. To make matters worse it was a hot day so we had fans going in the house to try and stop us from melting, which of course moved dust and heaven only knows what around and set my blinking sinuses off again. Thankfully I was on the ball and started taking the meds straight away but today it has still made me sick - not nice.

Anyway enough about that and on to the Layouts.
These pics were taken last year after a trip to collect greenery to decorate a marque for our land rover club's summer ball. When they drove back towards us you couldn't tell that there was even a driver, the driver declined to be in the photo btw (thanks honey!)

And this was what himself did to another of our vehicles the following day.

It was relatively dry on the off road site but he still managed to find some muddy water to drive through. Once again he declined to let me take a photo of him, you can imagine the state he was in and that muck stank.

Now for a layout where I managed to catch him.

As you might have guessed himself does not like having his photo taken so I have to snap him when I can and I couldn't resist this one.

The paint under the title and on the journalling spot was inspired by the drips on the polish bottle, and the marks on the garage floor where he spilled some, and you get more of a streaky effect in real life.

Finally we have another photo of him taken at a local mini show by a club photographer and until we found it on the internet he had no idea it had been taken.

The film strip background is I will confess a result of covering up a blunder. While inking the stamp to make my journalling spot I dropped the ink pad which bounced across the worktop and off my LO leaving black marks. I was gutted because aside from the journalling it was complete then knowing I had nothing to lose I decided to try stamping the film strip randomly around the background and I have to say I like the effect and think that if I said nothing no one would ever be any the wiser.

There's no WOYWW pic todaybecause my camera battery is on charge, but there's not really anything to show on there anyway for the reasons mentioned at the top of this post. Maybe next week!

WOYWW March 2nd 2011

Today you literally get a quick shot of my desk as it is, so somewhat messy by my standards. At the front are a couple of cards that I made at craft club yesterday, the stamps I used for said cards and a set of magazine freebie papers. Thanks to all of you who offered me get well wishes I am feeling much better, my ears are still suffering with pressure but it's more annoying than painful. I've been inhaling steam and menthol but am back off to the docs later today so will check that it's nothing serious.

Fed Up!

I have so had enough of feeling ill. It's been over two weeks now and I just want rid of the pressure in my ears and the pain in my throat, oh and the cough every time I lie down.

I have been a little more creative, as much because I needed to be as because I wanted to be (I needed the card for a party yesterday evening). I was inspired by the craftwork cards botanical range again with this one and the only things I used other than that range were the A5 card blank, a touch of frosted lace stickles and of course my cuttlebug for the letters.
I'm already considering buying another pack of the papers because I love them so much.

Friday!

Hello from a me who is feeling better by the day. I am so thankful that I dragged myself out and saw the doctor, the antibiotics are definitely helping my sinus problems and I am hoping that this will be the last bout for the winter. I am so counting my blessings that antibiotics and the like are available to us.

Thank you for all the kind comments they are much appreciated. That is DST in the photo of my recent stash haul, 12 rolls of it in fact - a total of 360 metres if the packaging is to be believed in two widths. I use so much of it that 12 rolls for £5 was an offer I couldn't pass up. I may very well have seen Julia's friend demo-ing at the show, I saw some amazing demos and came home with lots of ideas as well as stash.

I've been taking it easy the past few days, relatively speaking, although I have made a few easter cards. Looking at my craft room you would be mistaken for thinking that i had been on some crazy non-stop craft-a-thon because there is stuff everywhere. And it is starting to annoy me. Most of the time I can live with my creative chaos but there comes a point at which I have to tidy up and it looks like this weekend is it. Wish me luck!

WWOYWW

Or What Was On Your Workdesk Wednesday!
Firstly let me confess I am running late this week because I feel really rough. I have been suffering from awful pain in my head for the last twenty four hours due to sinus problems. I don't really feel like doing anything today but as I am waiting for my CBT call I'm blogging to keep myself awake.
Now I took this photos yesterday intending to blog for WOYWW as normal but it never happened so here they are today.
On my desk yesterday could be found various card making bits and a set of ATCs that I might feature in more detail at a later time. That's about it although looking at the photo on here has reminded me that I need to empty my very pink desktop bin.

So because my desk is somewhat uninteresting this week I took a bit of a swing and photographed my notice board.
Now the idea is that the board provides me with inspiration but seeing has it is in dire need of clearing off and having new bits added it doesn't really do that at the moment. I am hoping that putting it on here will inspire me to revitalise it and then I can share it with you again. Anyway at the moment on the board you will see amongst other things a tax disc for a land rover that hasn't ventured out since it's tax was due (I've got the disc cause OH would only loose it), there are a selection of bag charms I've made for myself taken off bags and never put back onto other bags, my pedigree going back on some lines eight generations (and it's not up to date with my research), various cards and postcards and a compliment slip from the local police station when I reported that I had hit a dog almost two years ago (- I and my car suffered more damge than the dog who ran off)

Hopefully I will be back to normal real soon but if anyone as any advice about dealing with sinus problems feel free to share!

Tis the Season...

...to be coughing!

I have had one hell of a week. It started with a chill and has ended up with a cough that doesn't seem to be in any hurry to leave me alone. I'm not really in the right frame of mind for christmas at the moment, all I want to do is wrap myself up warm and shut the world out. However I don't think that is going to happen. I still have shopping to do and haven't wrapped a single present yet.

I have managed to finish my 12 days of christmas jigsaw book which is a bonus and as soon as I stop coughing long enough to get a half decent photo it will be on here :)

I've got the shropshire scrappers coming here tomorrow which should be good and I think that my plan for the new year is coming together nicely
