What's on my workdesk?

Not a Lot!
Honestly this is what my desk looked like this morning. After almost manic crafting last week and a busy weekend I've not felt like doing much so far this week. There's plenty of stuff within reach but nothing much actually happening.

And so the weekend.
Last weekend we went to the Stourport-on-severn Steam Gala, held on what could almost be called my summer home from home aka Coney Green Farm. It was a good show with just a few showers to dodge and annoyingly heavy rain on the saturday night. The pictures are a couple taken by himself of the club stand (you can just spot our colourful beasties at either end of the line up!)

Wednesday Again

And time for a look at my desk for this week's WOYWW.
This was my desk before I started doing anything today. I had a LO to finish and lots of half finished cards too. And a sneeky glimpse of miss things birthday card because it is a certain little niece's birthday soon.

This is the completed LO. I actually did all the hardwork at Sunday's Warrington crop and it was waiting on my desk for the journalling to be added. I'm really pleased with it and it is my LO for this week's SLYMI challenge to scrap a happy story.
And today is one of those happy days :)

Running Late

Firstly since I am running late this week here is my photo for WOYWW
It was actually taken on wednesday even if it has taken me days to get it on here. At the time my desk was fairly clear holding the usual junk and a selection of finished projects. The silk flowers were for decorating a hat but more about that in a moment.

I've had this photo out to scrap for a while now and when I saw the AC Thickers accent in the shape of a pointing hand knew I'd got to use it with this.
As you can tell OH was not impressed at the idea of having his photo taken LOL
Next we have a LO for this week's challenge over on UKS. It was quite a tricky one for me because not only did we have a sketch to use it involved 4 photos and we had to scrap either the preparation or aftermath of a celebration and include the colour pink! I finally decided that these photos of my friend and I getting ready for the uni halloween celebrations back in 1998 would work well. I cropped the two smaller images so small because being pre-scrapping photos there was a lot of empty background and I like the effect this gives the page.
The title doesn't just represent the fact we are ready to go out but also my going out song of the time which was Ready to Go by Republica. This was a ritual established whilst housesharing during my second year of uni of playing a particular feel good song loudly just before leaving for a night out. Made for interesting listening if we were all going out at the same time!

Finally a card.
We are off to a wedding this afternoon and I have made this card for the happy couple. The wedding is also the reason for my recent interest in millinery. With the weather having been as nice as it as I decided that a hat might be practical as well as a fashion statement, and I love any excuse to wear a hat! So a plain black straw sun hat was bought and I livened it up with the addition of some feathers and a large flower. And if i get a reasonable picture of myself today you might even get to see it!
